ABO Energy España Builds a 50 MW Solar Power Plant in Yebra
ABO Energy España has announced the construction of a 50-megawatt (MW) photovoltaic solar plant in Yebra (Guadalajara), marking the company’s first turnkey project in Spain. With an annual production of approximately 100 gigawatt hours (GWh) and 87,000 modules, this solar installation is set to be the largest in the company’s history. Construction began in January and is progressing according to schedule, with the mounting systems and panels expected to be installed by summer and operations set to commence in early 2025. The plant will utilize tracking technology to optimize panel angles towards the sun for enhanced performance.
Investment and Long-Term Electricity Purchase Agreement
The project has been financed with a multi-million euro investment volume in partnership with the German bank KfW and DAL Deutsche Anlagen-Leasing GmbH & Co. KG. ABO Energy has also secured a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) with a renowned international company. Meanwhile, ABO Wind, the parent company of ABO Energy España S.A.U., is in the process of rebranding due to its diversified range of technologies and services. The Spanish subsidiary has already registered the new name ”ABO Energy” starting in February 2024, while the German headquarters will follow suit in May.

ABO Energy España ha anunciado que está construyendo una planta solar fotovoltaica de 50 megavatios (MW) en Yebra (Guadalajara), el primer proyecto llave en mano de ABO Energy en España. La instalación fotovoltaica tendrá una producción anual de unos 100 gigavatios hora (GWh) y 87.000 módulos. La construcción comenzó en enero y avanza según lo previsto. La instalación de los sistemas de montaje y de los paneles está prevista para el verano y la puesta en marcha para principios de 2025. “Este parque solar es el mayor de la historia de la empresa hasta la fecha que utiliza tecnología de seguimiento para orientar el ángulo de los paneles hacia el sol y optimizar el rendimiento”, según anuncia la compañía en un comunicado.
Además, ABO Energy ha financiado el proyecto con un volumen de inversión de dos dígitos de millón de euros con fondos del banco alemán KfW y en cooperación con DAL Deutsche Anlagen-Leasing GmbH & Co. KG; y ha firmado un contrato de compraventa (PPA) de electricidad a largo plazo con una empresa de prestigio internacional. Mientras tanto, ABO Wind, la empresa matriz de ABO Energy España S.A.U., está en proceso de cambiar el nombre de la empresa porque “ABO Wind” ya no cubre plenamente la amplia gama de tecnologías y servicios de la empresa. La filial española ya ha registrado el nuevo nombre ABO Energy a partir de febrero de 2024, mientras que la matriz alemana cambiará de nombre en mayo.
