Iberdrola ‌and Gres⁢ Panaria: A New Agreement ​for Clean Energy

Iberdrola and Gres Panaria have signed a ⁢new long-term power purchase agreement (PPA), in which the Spanish company will supply solar photovoltaic energy to⁣ the leading Portuguese ceramics​ company for‌ the next 10 years.

A Green Commitment

This agreement aims to provide ‍a total⁣ of 92 GWh of ⁣clean energy during⁣ the‍ contract period, starting in 2025. Rui Afonso,‌ CEO of Iberdrola Clientes ⁣Portugal, highlights, “We are actively ⁢involved​ in ⁤decarbonizing the industry and promoting renewable ⁢energies.”

Sustainability Beyond Energy

According to Marco Mussini, Chairman of the Board of Gres Panaria Portugal, “This agreement goes beyond energy. Sustainability has been a key element in the company’s strategy, reinforcing our commitment to sustainable production and reducing the environmental impact of our‍ operations.”

Iberdrola’s Renewable Projects in Portugal

Iberdrola has been operating in Portugal since ​2003 and is one of the main promoters of renewable energy in the country. ⁣In addition‌ to several solar and wind farms,​ they have the largest hydroelectric project ⁤in Portugal, Tâmega, with three plants and a ​total capacity of 1,158 MW.
